This bread has a special place in my Vegitupdelights journey. The very first time I baked it was when some of my closest friends were visiting for dinner 🏠🍽️. I had just completed a bread baking class—a lovely gift from my parents when I started this blog—and I was buzzing with excitement to try something new from what I’d learnt 🎁🍞.
So I experimented… and out came this golden, pull-apart beauty ✨. Soft, pillowy layers infused with a subtle garlic flavor, baked to perfection. I remember placing it on the table, and before I could even offer butter or dips, slices started disappearing—just like that. Six of us sat there, tearing into warm, fluffy bread, chatting and laughing as if that loaf had brought the whole table together 👯♂️💬. No one wanted anything else. Just the bread.
That night, this simple recipe became one of my favorite stories to tell. It wasn’t just bread—it was connection, joy, and a little surprise in every slice 💛. And that’s exactly what Vegitupdelights is about—bringing joy to the table, one story (and one recipe) at a time 🍞✨.

🍞 Method
- Prepare the Dry Mix:
In a large mixing bowl, combine:- All-purpose flour (maida)
- A pinch of salt
- A spoon of milk powder
- Activate the Yeast & Start the Dough:
Make a well in the center. Add:- Sugar
- Instant yeast
- Oil
Gently mix the sugar, oil, and yeast together using your fingers just in the center, allowing the yeast to activate.
- Make the Dough:
Gradually add lukewarm water as needed and begin combining the flour into the wet ingredients. Knead the mixture well until it forms a soft, smooth dough. Follow your video instructions for hand-kneading and folding techniques. - Roll Out & Flavor:
Once the dough is ready, roll it out into a large circle using a rolling pin.- Generously brush the top with garlic butter mixed with herbs.
- Cut & Arrange:
- Slice the rolled dough into even squares.
- Stack or overlap the squares vertically or slightly tilted and place them together into a greased baking tray.
- Proof the Dough:
- Cover the tray with a cloth or cling wrap and let it rise for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
- Bake:
- Bake in a preheated oven (usually around 180°C / 350°F) until golden brown and baked through.
- Post-Bake Softening:
- Once out of the oven and still warm, brush the top with a mixture of oil and water to keep it soft.
- Wrap & Rest:
- Let it cool slightly, then lightly cling wrap to lock in moisture.
- For best texture, allow the bread to cool down completely before cutting and serving.
